As I got closer to my 40’s, I struggled with my weight and being short (I’m just 5 ft 2) I’ve always felt I needed to keep it under control. I would constantly berate myself because I wasn’t happy with how I looked or felt. I just wanted to feel confident and good in my body. So, I tried diet after diet - on the search for the magic bullet that would finally work! I tried eating less, counting calories, exercising more and harder. I did diet plans, cut out carbs, meal replacement pills & potions, a body builders’ diet of just chicken fish and sweet potato… You name it, I tried it!

Each time I went on a new diet, I got excited because I thought “this time will be different.” And things would start off positive in that I lost weight. And I had that amazing feeling of having my clothes get too big and picking out new, smaller clothes that I felt great in. But all the while I was suffering on these diets. I was hungry and deprived. I was grumpy!! And that affected my Family Life!
But that’s not the worst part. The worst part is that when I went off each diet, I’d continue eating healthy, but I gave myself more wiggle room with what I ate and how much. And that’s when the weight came back on… every single time! And the hormones continued to go up and down like I was on a rollercoaster.

My low point was hitting Peri Menopause! I was in the Gym 6 x per week, and my jeans were getting tighter. I was moody, tearful, feeling fat and flabby.
